Fast is what it's good for. Not stopping is what it costs. Knowing that helps.

Read as a bad temper. 火星 is speed, and speed in the right place is an advantage. The problem was the braking.
火星 and 鈴星, together 火鈴, are the two fires among the six difficult stars. What they share is suddenness; what differs is direction — 火星 outward, 鈴星 inward.
火星 is yang fire: fast, visible, and over quickly. The tradition has an interesting exception for it — in the same palace as 貪狼 it forms 火貪格, read as a configuration for sudden fortune. Which shows the six were never simply bad: the same sudden force, on the right star, is explosive power, and on the wrong one it's an accident.
So the practical reading is that it needs an outlet. In a palace with 火星, things don't come gradually; what you get to decide isn't whether to be fast but which direction the speed goes. The tradition's advice has never been suppression — it's arranging in advance where it will go.
