The court cards aren't on the ace-to-ten line; they're four postures toward the element, from raw to mature: Page, Knight, Queen, King. The Page is the rawest — just handed the suit's thing and still working out how it's used. Page of Wands staring at the staff, Page of Cups at the fish surfacing in the cup, Page of Swords practising strokes, Page of Pentacles studying the coin.
The mechanism is fluency, not age. One person can be a King in love and a Page with money. So when a Page appears the card isn't saying you're young; it's saying that in this matter you're at the beginning.
Where you'll recognise it: the first months of a new job, relationship or skill — curious, clumsy, often too earnest. Running well, a Page is the best learning state there is: everything fresh, no baggage, unafraid to ask. Stuck, its problems come in two kinds — quitting because you're unskilled, or rushing past the apprenticeship to play King. Tarot is generous on this point: rawness is a stage, not a verdict.
