正印 is what feeds you at the same polarity. Like 偏印 it's nourishment; the difference is regularity. 偏印 is irregular, unorthodox supply; 正印 is steady and predictable — formal education, mother, long-standing backing, an institution you can rely on.

Feeding at matching polarity is gentle and continuous, so 正印 works like a foundation: it doesn't push you forward, it stops you collapsing. The tradition links it to mother, qualifications, reputation and protection, and what those share is holding you up before you were able.

The practical reading carries a reversal worth knowing: 印 is a good thing, and heavy 印 with a weak day master is a problem — protected too long, capability never gets the chance to grow. So the ideal here isn't more either. It's having it when it's needed and letting go when independence is due.
