Eating GodThe ten gods (BaZi)BaZi · Four Pillars of Destiny

食神 is what you produce, at the same polarity: something grown out of you in your own register. Its image is food, and what it describes is what you feed coming back to feed you — work, craft, children, reputation.

It's one of the few boxes the tradition rates almost uniformly well, and not because it brings luck: it means your energy has an outlet. The day master's force goes outward and turns into something visible, and that alone steadies a person. Without an outlet the energy turns inward and consumes itself.

The practical use is direct: in a 食神 stretch, making something is worth more than talking about something. The tradition says 食神 governs longevity, which in plain terms means people who are creating tend to be in better shape.
