Western Astrologywhat is it?how it works, what it shows

Western Astrology is a method that reads a person through where the Sun, Moon and planets stood at the moment of birth, set against the twelve signs and twelve houses. It is used to look at personality, patterns in love and friendship, and phases brought by planetary movement.

How it is worked outWestern Astrology

Birth date, time and place give the positions of ten bodies on the ecliptic. Signs are counted from the spring equinox in 30-degree steps (the tropical zodiac). The rising sign and houses come from time and place; Placidus by default, with whole-sign or equal houses available. Positions are checked against NASA JPL ephemerides.

What it asks you for: date of birth

What it shows

What the Sun, Moon and rising sign each describe, which area of life each planet falls in, the angles between planets (aspects), and upcoming transits and retrograde periods.
