Chinese Zodiac is the tradition of matching twelve animals to the twelve earthly branches and giving you the animal of your birth year. It is used for your year sign, compatibility with other signs, and each year's relationship to Tai Sui.
Your sign is the branch of the birth year, cycling every twelve years; the year's stem adds an element and yin or yang. GATSEE changes the year at Lichun. Many families count from Lunar New Year instead, so births between the two can differ.
What it asks you for: date of birth
Your animal, the year's element and polarity, the signs you pair or clash with, and whether this year meets or opposes Tai Sui.
