4 Green WoodThe nine starsNine Star Ki 九星気学

Four Green Wood sits south-east, on the Xun trigram — wind. Wind differs from thunder in being continuous and penetrating: thunder is one strike, wind keeps blowing and gets into every crack. So Four Green's subject is circulation — relationships, news, influence, all things that are only worth something in motion.

It shows up in you like this: the people you know are varied and you remember how they relate to each other; your speech adjusts itself into a shape the other person can catch; and being misunderstood is hard for you — you'll keep trying to make it clear.

Running well, Four Green is the one who connects people: partnerships, marriages, deals mostly have you somewhere in the middle. That's rare in any era. Blocked, wind becomes drift — never taking a position in order to keep every relationship, until nobody knows where you stand; or carried off by too much information with your own direction gone. Four Green's practice is settling which way you're blowing. Wind with a direction is wind. Without one it's just turbulence.
