Two Black Earth sits south-west, on the Kun trigram — the ground, the mother, the face that carries everything. Kun is the most yielding and the most substantial hexagram in the I Ching: it doesn't initiate, and everything rests on it. So Two Black's subject is bearing rather than passivity.
It shows up in you like this: you automatically take what other people set down, feelings included; you work solidly, step by step, and do it worse when hurried; and you don't compete for credit, which is why you're often taken for granted.
Running well, Two Black is everyone's ground: with you there it doesn't come apart, and that value is only visible in your absence. Blocked, bearing becomes accumulation — taking everything, including what wasn't yours, until it silently turns to resentment. The tradition links Two Black to earth congestion, and the 鬱 isn't sadness, it's blockage: more coming in than going out. So what this star practises isn't carrying more. It's learning to decline.
