The snake holds 巳, nine to eleven — sun high, things becoming clearly visible. In the tradition the snake stands for knowing without saying: it works on timing and accuracy rather than force, and both of those require seeing clearly first.
You'll recognise it here: you observe far more than you say; you decide slowly and then rarely explain, because you've already run every version internally; and insincerity registers with you sharply, even when it isn't malicious.
Running well, the snake is whoever lands it in one: not moving, and then moving with the position and the timing already calculated. That efficiency has nothing to do with diligence and everything to do with judgement. Blocked, silence becomes distance — nobody can guess what you think, so they stop asking; or seeing too clearly becomes a reason never to commit, permanently assessing and never inside. The snake's practical lesson is saying part of it out loud. Not all of it — but sharing the judgement is what turns accuracy into influence rather than something only you know.
