The root sits at the bottom, and its function is pressure — the same as the head's, in the opposite direction: the head pushes down into thinking, the root pushes up into action. It's the chart's adrenal, the fuel behind getting moving at all.
Filled means that pressure is yours with its own rhythm, and you're used to operating under it. Open means pressure arrives from outside and is amplified, so you rush to finish things in order to make it stop — and the rushing is this centre's commonest trap.
Running well, pressure is the best drive there is: deadlines, responsibility, a little adrenaline, and things actually happen. Blocked, pressure with no outlet becomes anxiety — the same energy, the only difference being whether it has somewhere to go. So the practical handling isn't reducing it. It's giving it one thing you can finish today. Pressure isn't the enemy. Pressure with nowhere to go is.
