5 sits at the exact middle of one to nine, which means it belongs to neither half — not the settling half, not the harvesting one. That middle position gives 5 a particular function: conversion. It's the force that breaks up what has accumulated so it can be arranged again. So the restlessness in 5 isn't a defect; it's the job description.

You'll recognise it here: when a plan gets disrupted, your first reaction isn't annoyance, it's a small lift; by the third year in the same role you become physically unable to sit still; and you rarely regret what you did — mostly you regret where you didn't go.

Running well, 5 is the one who gets a system out of being stuck: you can see the alternative route because you never treated the current one as the only one. Blocked, it goes two ways. One is turning freedom into flight — changing scene each time it's about to get deep, so thirty has accumulated about as much as twenty did. The other is treating stimulation as proof of being alive, which needs a rising dose. 5's work isn't settling down. It's finding one thing complex enough on the inside that you keep meeting something new without having to swap out the whole thing to feel it.
