巳 holds nine to eleven and, in the year, the start of summer, where fire takes over. It's yin fire: not the sun's general shining but something concentrated, aimed, burning precisely.
That sets its character: precision and containment. Its force isn't in size, it's in accuracy. The snake fits — it doesn't win on bulk but on timing and position, which is the same statement twice.
Where 巳 sits in a chart, that area runs on judgement rather than force, and you tend to be the one who sees clearly before moving. 巳 is also one of the travelling horses, grouped with 寅, 申 and 亥 — so it carries movement too, but movement with a purpose rather than movement to get away.
