The four suits map to the four elements, and that mapping is the skeleton of the whole minor arcana: Wands are fire, Cups water, Swords air, Pentacles earth. Fire's nature among the elements is upward, outward, and hungry for fuel — so Wands are invariably about will, action, the creative urge, and the sheer force it takes to move something.
Where you'll recognise it: the itch to start, the heat once you have, and the gate you reach when the heat fades and you have to decide whether to keep going. Ace to ten walks exactly that line — ignition, choosing a direction, seeing the far shore, standing firm, contending, being recognised, holding ground, sprinting, enduring, carrying too much.
Running well, Wands are your most alive part: quick to start, clear on direction, infectious. Stuck, fire's problem is fuel, every time — either it burns past its supply and exhausts you, or there's nothing to burn and it idles. So when Wands appear, look first at whether the fire has somewhere to go. Will with an outlet is thrust; will without one burns inward.
